Kirloskar Institute for Advanced Management Studies (KIAMS), India, celebrated their 20th convocation ceremony recently. On this occasion, Dr. Vikas Joshi addressed the B-school graduates as their guest of honor.
Following up on the key themes in the opening address by Mr. Atul Kirloskar, President of the Institute, Vikas narrated stories from his days at the Harvard Business School. He posed the question - What do we learn at a B-school that nobody teaches? He stated that what's in the curriculum is only part of what a student learns. He then illustrated how students learn networking, learning from peers, and working in groups without role power - as part of their B-school journey. Vikas then discussed the future payoff of such out-of-curriculum learning.
Following the convocation addresses, KIAMS conferred over a hundred diplomas and several awards to meritorious students of the graduating cohort.
